How do I obtain .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1?

Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8:

.NET Framework 3.5 is a built-in component but it is not enabled by default.

In Control Panel, choose Programs and Features, choose Turn Windows features on or off, and then select the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 check box. This option requires an Internet connection.

Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 7:

.NET Framework 3.5 is a built-in component and it is enabled by default.

In Control Panel, choose Programs and Features, choose Turn Windows features on or off, and then make sure that the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 check box is selected.

Older supported operating systems:

Make sure that .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 is listed in Add or Remove Programs. You can either obtain it from the Microsoft Download Center, or through Windows Update.

Note: .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 is listed as a non-mandatory update in Windows Update.
